About The Position

Festival Foods is a Wisconsin grocer committed to community giving and exceptional guest service, operating over 40 full-service supermarkets across the state. The company prioritizes its associates, offering extensive benefits and programs. This role, Wine and Spirits Clerk/Cashier, reports to the Wine and Spirits Department Manager. The schedule includes afternoons, evenings, and one shift on Saturday or Sunday, requiring individuals to be 18 years or older. Whether you have experience as a bartender, are a retail customer service enthusiast, or enjoy helping others discover new favorites, this position places you at the center of the guest experience. As a Wine & Spirits Clerk/Cashier, you will be part of a team dedicated to helping guests find the perfect pairing for any occasion, from local craft beers to premium wines and specialty spirits. You will collaborate closely with team leaders to ensure the department runs smoothly, providing friendly, knowledgeable service that enhances the shopping experience.

Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age in order to sample products sold in the wine and spirits department.
Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with customers
Good oral and written communication skills
Thorough understanding of all safety requirements and company safety policies.
Must possess the ability to apply on-the-job safety training to recognize and react to possible safety hazards on store premises.
Proper training and knowledge of the following equipment/procedures: hand jack, baler, forklift, pallet jack, trash compactor, proper lifting techniques, and proper scanning techniques.

Responsibilities

Help guests find what they’re looking for, offer recommendations, and take special orders.
Answer questions, resolve concerns, and ensure every guest leaves feeling supported.
Work alongside associates and leadership to meet department goals and maintain high standards.
Maintain inventory levels, ensure accurate pricing, and keep shelves stocked and organized.
Check out purchases with accuracy and a smile.
Help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests and team members.
Work with vendors, managers, and fellow associates to exceed expectations.
Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences.
Other duties as assigned.
