Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical owner of the Windows Virtual Desktop environment and manage the platform at the image, session, and application-delivery levels.
  • Support ongoing migration and stabilization efforts following transition.
  • Identify, track, and resolve VDI pain points affecting engineering users, with the goal of improving desktop responsiveness and application reliability.
  • Manage the Windows VDI base-image lifecycle, including operating-system patching and rollback, application deployment, and standardization aligned with Software Store Standardization initiatives.
  • Support and lead user data migration from legacy environments, manage user onboarding workflows, and provision access for new and migrating VDI users.
  • Resolve complex Windows VDI application compatibility issues, including issues involving engineering applications and third-party simulation tools, and act as the escalation point for desktop-tier issues affecting engineering productivity.
  • Monitor VDI session performance, resource consumption, and concurrency patterns, and provide capacity data for provisioning decisions and cost benchmarking by engineer persona.
  • Support the migration of Windows deployment processes toward more automated and standardized models aligned with broader CI/CD goals.
  • Ensure Windows VDI environments meet cybersecurity standards and support vulnerability-remediation workflows coordinated by security and compliance initiatives.
