About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Windows System Administrator for a new prime contract that is based out of our Maryland office. This role involves providing support for the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems, including managing IT system infrastructure and ensuring the integrity of these systems. The position requires day-to-day operations support, monitoring, and problem resolution for various IT components such as client/server, storage, network devices, and mobile devices. The role includes providing Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) support, identifying and resolving problems, and escalating issues with status updates to management and customers. Additionally, the Windows System Administrator will support the dispatch system and hardware issues, configure and manage UNIX and Windows operating systems, install and load operating system software, troubleshoot, maintain network components, and implement system enhancements for reliability and performance. The role also involves managing daily IT system activities, assisting users, optimizing system operations, performing capacity analysis, and providing in-depth troubleshooting and feedback to management.

Requirements

  • Ten (10) years’ experience as a SA on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Compliance with DoD 8570.01-M with a minimum certification of IAM Level I is required.
  • TS/SCI Poly clearance required.

Nice To Haves

  • In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, four (4) additional SA experience may be substituted for a total of fourteen (14) years of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems.
  • Manage IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems.
  • Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
  • Provide Tier I (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems.
  • Provide support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.
  • Provide support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remain involved in the resolution process.
  • Configure and manage UNIX and Windows (mostly Windows) operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoots, maintain integrity and configure network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
  • Manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems
  • Provide assistance to users in accessing and using IT systems
  • Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
  • Optimize system operations and resource utilization, and perform system capacity analysis and planning
  • Provide in-depth experience in trouble-shooting IT systems
  • Provide detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated tickets.
