About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Windows System Administrator for a new prime contract based out of their Maryland office. This role involves providing comprehensive support for the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems. The Windows SA will manage the IT system infrastructure and related processes, ensuring the day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for client/server, storage, network devices, and mobile devices. The position includes providing Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) support, identifying, diagnosing, and resolving IT system issues. Responsibilities also include escalating issues and communicating status to agency management and internal customers, supporting the dispatch system, and managing hardware problems through to resolution. The role requires configuring and managing UNIX and Windows operating systems, installing and loading OS software, troubleshooting, maintaining network component integrity, and implementing OS enhancements for reliability and performance. The SA will manage daily IT system configuration and operations, assist users with IT system access and usage, optimize system operations and resource utilization, and perform system capacity analysis and planning. In-depth troubleshooting experience and detailed analysis/feedback to management for escalated tickets are essential.

Requirements

  • Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities): Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems.
  • Manage IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems.
  • Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
  • Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems.
  • Provide support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.
  • Provide support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remain involved in the resolution process.
  • Configure and manage UNIX and Windows (mostly Windows) operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoots, maintain integrity and configure network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
  • Manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems.
  • Provide assistance to users in accessing and using IT systems.
  • Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
  • Optimize system operations and resource utilization, and perform system capacity analysis and planning.
  • Provide in-depth experience in trouble-shooting IT systems.
  • Provide detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated tickets.
  • Clearance Required: TS/SCI Poly
  • Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, IT Engineering or related field is required. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, four (4) additional years of work-related experience may be substituted for a total of twelve (12) years.
  • Minimum Years of Experience: Ten (10) years’ experience as a SA on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, four (4) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a total of fourteen (14) years of experience.
  • Required Certifications: Compliance with DoD 8570.01-M with a minimum certification of IAM Level I is required.
