About The Position

Penske Rapid Repair, a Penske Automotive Group dealership, is hiring a Window Glass Apprentice Technician to learn automotive glass repair and replacement while working alongside experienced technicians. The role also assists with vehicle preparation, shop organization, inventory and materials, and customer support. It is suited to someone who is mechanically inclined, dependable, and eager to learn a trade. The position works primarily in an automotive shop and includes training and development opportunities.

Requirements

• No experience is needed; mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn a skilled trade are required.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Genuine interest in providing an exceptional customer experience; friendliness, enthusiasm, and a positive team-player attitude.
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills, including listening to customers and determining how to assist them.
• Ability to work well on a team and engage effectively with leadership.
• Knowledge of automotive systems, tools, and repair processes; safe working knowledge of shop tools and equipment.
• Ability to use technical reference materials and manuals in written and online formats and explain technical terms to non-technical audiences.
• Ability to follow processes to ensure quality and safety.
• Effective time-management skills and ability to prioritize.
• High school diploma or equivalent and two-year related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including prolonged standing, regular pushing, pulling, climbing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, grasping, walking, and repetitive motion; must be able to talk and hear.
• Work evening, weekend, and holiday hours as required.

Nice To Haves

• Previous automotive experience.
• Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
• Three years of verifiable auto glass replacement experience.
• Luxury car experience.
• Dealership experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with windshield, door glass, back glass, and mirror replacement.
• Learn proper installation, repair, and safety procedures.
