About The Position

As a Winding Technician, you're the first and last hands on every core & coil we rewind. The transformers you rebuild have powered American factories and communities for decades. Your job is to fit them with new coils and put them back in service for decades more. This is not an assembly-line factory job. The work runs from heavy and mechanical to fine and technical. You cut the lid off each transformer, remove and disassemble the transformer's core & coil (the heart of the machine), and take the measurements our winders need to wind new coils just across the shop. When the coils come back, you stack in thousands of pounds of core steel, insulate and set the head frame, weld on aluminum/copper bus, and wire up the complete unit, ready for the next stage of production. You'll also work with our production team on electrical testing, component function and installation, and the full reconditioning process, learning the transformer inside and out.

Requirements

• Comfortable with online documentation and web-based software systems (computer & smartphone).
• Good communicator; in-person, over the phone, and via email.
• Enjoys working with others.
• Good learner.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Know how to use basic hand tools.
• Follow written instructions.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in welding, fabrication, or general shop/mechanical work is a plus.
