About The Position

Mid-Central Electric is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Winding Machine Operator for its manufacturing team. The role operates high-speed coil winding machines to produce copper-wound coils for medium-voltage control power transformers. It is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, paying $19.00 per hour.

The position requires operating machinery while seated for extended periods and working in a manufacturing environment with machinery, varying noise levels, temperature changes, and other standard industrial conditions. Physical tasks may include standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and reaching throughout the workday, with lifting up to 50 pounds as needed.

Requirements

• Ability to operate machinery in a seated position for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow production instructions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to stand, walk, sit, lift, carry, push, pull, and reach throughout the workday.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
• Frequent use of hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying noise levels and temperature conditions.

Responsibilities

• Review transformer winding and assembly documentation to determine the proper wire size, number of turns, and core specifications.
• Set up winding machines according to production requirements.
• Operate winding equipment efficiently while maintaining quality standards.
• Manually insert insulation material between winding layers as required.
• Change wire and materials as needed during production runs.
• Monitor machine performance and promptly report operational issues to supervisors.
• Assist in other manufacturing areas during periods of reduced production volume.
