About The Position

The Tech One Program (TOP) is a structured career development program for entry-level wind technicians, created through a partnership between Sky Climber Renewables and Vestas Americas. Wind Service Technicians receive exclusive safety and technical training accredited through the Global Wind Organization (GWO), with all training provided upon hire. Training includes basic safety, tower safety, and technical training in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Technicians primarily work at a wind site near home as part of a service team, helping ensure safe and efficient wind turbine maintenance. The role reports directly to the Program Manager and Site Manager, and indirectly to the Lead Technician during assignments. Technicians perform preventive, scheduled, and unscheduled maintenance on wind turbine generator equipment, including machinery and components used in power generation. Work inside a cabinet or controller may only be performed under the direct supervision of a certified Electrical Technician. Additional duties may be assigned to support customer needs and the company’s mission, values, and long-term vision.
