About The Position

Mortenson is seeking a laborer for the Plum Creek Wind Project in Walnut, Minnesota. The position is responsible for preparing, handling, and supplying materials for use by other crafts. The work includes assisting with equipment and scaffolding, mortar and grout, concrete, and general site cleanup. Duties may change without notice and may include other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

Construction experience is preferred.
Ability to work with power and non-powered hand tools, vibrators, pumps, drills, jackhammers, forklifts, skid loaders, and power buggies.
Strong teamwork orientation, a positive attitude, professional customer service skills, attention to detail, active listening, and effective communication, including openness to diverse input and feedback.
Ability to perform repetitive hand, arm, and leg movements.
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds; handling loads over 50 pounds requires assistance from another team member or equipment.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employment visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Load and unload equipment.
Erect and dismantle scaffolding (5X7X16) and staging.
Level ground for scaffolding.
Tend mortar and grout.
Lift, unload, move, set, and shovel mortar and grout between wheelbarrows and buckets.
Perform general cleanup and clear debris, including sweeping, cleaning, washing, and unloading or burning debris.
Place, push, pull, and shovel concrete.
Vibrate concrete.
Work effectively and build relationships with people from diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
Perform other duties as assigned.
