About The Position
Mortenson is seeking a carpenter for the Plum Creek Wind Project in Walnut, Minnesota. The position is responsible for constructing and repairing wood and wallboard fixtures in compliance with local building codes and general construction principles. The role involves a range of construction activities, including rough and finish carpentry, formwork, handling prefabricated materials, and supporting site setup. Responsibilities
- Set up trailers.
- Review blueprints, sketches, and building plans to determine material requirements and measure dimensions.
- Build decks, stairs, roofs, and temporary structures; install shelves; set up tool trailers and conex containers; and install silt fences and straw bales according to the erosion control plan.
- Hand-set forms and assemble gang forms.
- Assist journeymen and foremen with shooting grades and elevations.
- Unload, handle, stockpile, and erect prefabricated materials.
- Perform concrete and rough carpentry work, including hand-setting walls and footings, assembling gang wall forms, and constructing structural concrete decks.
- Perform drywall and finish carpentry work, including doors, frames, hardware, millwork, and cabinetry.
- Work effectively and build relationships with people from diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
