About The Position

Mortenson is hiring a laborer for the Four Horizons Wind Project in Seymour, Texas. The role is responsible for preparing, handling, and supplying materials for use by other crafts. The position involves equipment handling, scaffold and staging work, mortar, grout, and concrete tasks, and general site cleanup. The listed duties are not comprehensive and may change without notice. Lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling more than 50 pounds must be done with assistance from another team member or equipment.

Requirements

• Construction experience preferred.
• Ability to work with power and non-powered hand tools, vibrators, pumps, drills, jackhammers, forklifts, skid loaders, and power buggies.
• Strong teamwork orientation, a positive attitude, professional customer service skills, attention to detail, active listening skills, and effective communication, including openness to diverse input and feedback.
• Ability to perform repetitive hand, arm, and leg movements.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds; tasks involving more than 50 pounds require assistance from another team member or equipment.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employment visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload equipment.
• Erect and dismantle scaffolding (5X7X16) and staging.
• Level ground for scaffolding.
• Tend mortar and grout.
• Lift, unload, move, set, and shovel mortar and grout between wheelbarrows and buckets.
• Perform general cleanup and clear debris, including sweeping, cleaning, washing, and unloading or burning debris.
• Place, push, pull, and shovel concrete.
• Vibrate concrete.
• Work effectively and build relationships with people from diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
