About The Position

Mortenson is seeking a Wind Heavy Equipment Operator for the Four Horizons Wind Project in Seymour, Texas. The operator runs equipment as directed and specified while following Mortenson safety policies and procedures. The position involves operating various types of heavy equipment, maintaining safe and orderly work practices, performing routine equipment maintenance, and following work plans and pre-task cards. Operators work with people across diverse backgrounds and organizational levels. Duties and responsibilities may change without notice.

Requirements

• Equipment certifications as required.
• At least one year of related experience.
• A current driver’s license of the proper classification and any endorsements required by law.
• Strong teamwork orientation, positive attitude, professional customer service skills, and attention to detail.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and load charts.
• Ability to operate equipment using levers, gears, pedals, and steering wheels; knowledge of equipment and its uses; and basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to work independently, listen actively, communicate effectively, and be open to diverse input and feedback.
• Ability to perform repetitive hand, arm, and leg movements.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds. Loads over 50 pounds require assistance from another team member or equipment.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employment visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Operate project equipment as required, including blades, dozers, loaders, scrapers, forklifts and telehandlers, cranes, bobcats and skid-steers, boom lifts and aerial lifts, rollers, backhoes, and track cranes.
• Follow safety regulations and maintain clear and orderly housekeeping.
• Perform routine maintenance, observe equipment operation, and detect malfunctions.
• Follow work plans and pre-task cards.
• Build relationships with people from diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
