About The Position

This role is for a Graduate Assistant for the 'Seeing Wilmington in PrEP Educational Materials' project, a collaborative effort between the University of Delaware and AIDS Delaware for Fall 2026. This project aims to create educational materials about PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) that reflect the diverse demographic range and lived experiences of Wilmington residents. The project will result in two short (2-3 minute) educational videos and the design and printing of 200 copies each of three educational flyers and postcards. The graduate assistants will work a total of 40 hours each between August and December 2026, with an estimated pay of $25 per hour.

Requirements

  • Experience shooting and editing video (informal experience is fine!)
  • Punctuality, organization, and capacity to manage a complex project
  • Familiarity with graphic design tools (if you’ve made a poster for an event using Canva, that counts!)
  • Interest in histories of health activism, education, and outreach
  • Familiarity with Wilmington and interest in learning about health education in Wilmington
  • Must be enrolled in a graduate program at the University of Delaware and be in good academic standing.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit undergraduate theater students as actors
  • Participate in focus group with staff of AIDS Delaware
  • Travel to Wilmington to shoot footage for videos
  • Script and plan videos
  • Create two short (2-3 minute) educational videos
  • Design and print 200 copies each of three educational flyers and postcards that reflect AIDS Delaware’s client base and the geographic context of Wilmington
  • Distribute print materials
  • Work collaboratively with other graduate assistant and with Dr. Davy Knittle, who is directing the project
