About The Position
This internship provides hands-on experience in wildlife operations and ranch management. The intern will assist with various tasks related to wildlife surveys, feeding, monitoring, hunting, and general ranch maintenance. This role requires a flexible schedule, including availability during hunting season, holidays, weekends, and nights. The intern will report to the Wildlife Manager with oversight from the Ranch Manager.
Requirements
- Ability to be available 24 hours per day (on call for questions, emergencies, etc.)
- Ability to work holidays, weekends, and nights during hunting season
- Ability to maintain employee confidence and protect company assets, including intellectual property, by keeping information confidential
- Ability to contribute to completing short and long-term goals cooperatively with co-workers

- Fence construction, repair, and maintenance

Responsibilities
- Assist with wildlife operations as assigned
- Feed, monitor, and check on cattle as directed
- Fill and maintain corn and protein feeders
- Assist with wildlife surveys for deer, quail, and other wildlife
- Score and age white-tailed deer on the hoof
- Scout and pattern white-tailed deer
- Set up hunting and blind locations as assigned
- Utilize video equipment and cameras to capture wildlife and record data to ranch database
- Perform general post-harvest duties including skinning and cape preparation
- Guide hunts and assist with guest services
- Assist with maintenance and management of water systems
- Apply herbicides and operate associated equipment
- Maintain and upkeep ranch equipment and facilities
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment (tractors, skid steers, backhoes)
- Perform fence construction, repair, and maintenance
- Assist with any other ranch activities as assigned by Wildlife or Ranch Manager
- Be available 24 hours per day (on call for questions, emergencies, etc.)
- Maintain employee confidence and protect company assets by keeping information confidential
- Contribute to completing short and long-term goals cooperatively with co-workers
