About The Position

Risk Analysis support can serve several functions within the wildfire program. Work will focus on Wildfire metrics as they relate to how our system is built or work completion impacts on the system related to fire mitigation, resiliency, and reporting. This position is for a May 31, 2027 start date. This position may have the possibility to extend beyond the internship’s initial term based on the candidate’s successful performance and Xcel Energy’s business needs. Requirements

Current student, Freshman or higher (as of Fall 2027)
Enrolled in an ABET accredited college or university and pursuing a degree in Engineering related fields, data management, data integration
Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours a week) and commuting to the designated work location in-person, per our hybrid work policy.

Organize wildfire data sets to support system and activity analysis
Provide external assessment of information and data gathered concerning wildfires and utilities
Monetize wildfire information
Organize quantitative and qualitative wildfire information
Prepare and format reportable information in various formats
Wildfire problem solving
