About The Position

Graphic Packaging International is a leading manufacturer of paperboard and paper-based packaging for various global brands. They are seeking a Shipping/Receiving Employee to manage the movement of products within their warehouse. This role involves pulling orders, loading trucks for shipment, unloading incoming products, and ensuring inventory accuracy using an RF system. The employee will operate industrial powered trucks like forklifts and clamp lifts, verify product accuracy, and stencil products for identification. A strong emphasis is placed on safety, quality, and sanitation standards.

Requirements

  • Ability to operate an industrial powered truck such as a forklift and box clamp lift.
  • Proficiency in using an RF inventory control system.
  • Ability to visually inspect equipment for safety.
  • Understanding of inventory control systems.
  • Ability to perform double counts and verify product accuracy.
  • Knowledge of plant and company safety practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Compliance with quality standards.
  • Compliance with sanitation standards.
  • Ability to report injuries and safety hazards.

  • Experience in a warehouse shipping/receiving role.
  • Experience with paper-based packaging.

Responsibilities

  • Pulling orders of product from warehouse bays and loading them into trucks for shipment.
  • Unloading incoming product from trucks and storing it in warehouse bays.
  • Operating industrial powered trucks such as forklifts and clamp lifts.
  • Verifying the accuracy of all incoming and outgoing product.
  • Stenciling product for identification of customers.
  • Verifying bay accuracy of product and matching it with the inventory control system.
  • Visually inspecting the forklift or clamp truck at the beginning of each shift for safety.
  • Logging into the R/F inventory control system for scanning product.
  • Transferring product to a staging area for double counting, checking for mixed product, and preparation for shipment.
  • Physically loading verified product into the appropriate trailer for shipment.
  • Turning in paperwork to the shipping clerk for bill of lading.
  • Attaching seals to shipments as needed.
  • Unloading finished goods from trailers and transferring them to a staging area for verification.
  • Inputting information into the R/F system for received goods.
  • Turning in corresponding paperwork to the receiving clerk.
  • Performing safety checklists when loading/unloading product.
  • Pulling and wrapping product for distribution.
  • Understanding, performing, and promoting plant and company safety practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Complying with all safety, quality, and sanitation standards.
  • Reporting injuries immediately to the supervisor and any potential safety hazards observed.
  • Producing quality product by not accepting defective material, not making defective products, not passing defects to internal customers, and reporting potential quality issues.
  • Practicing good sanitation and housekeeping to maintain the facility.
