About The Position

LKQ Corporation is hiring a 2nd Shift Wheel Polishing Technician. The role is responsible for meeting product quality standards and production deadlines. Duties include operating and maintaining production equipment, assembling machinery parts, checking products and machinery for defects, monitoring stock, and following safety and quality procedures. The work may involve hazardous materials and conditions, manual handling of equipment and heavy loads, and use of personal protective equipment. The position does not supervise employees.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of experience.
• Previous experience as a production worker or in a similar warehouse role.
• Good understanding of production equipment.
• Ability to detect potential machinery problems.
• Knowledge of basic safety rules and precautionary measures.
• Ability to lift heavy loads and transfer them manually.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic with whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to communicate basic messages orally, write brief messages, and keep simple records.
• Ability to follow clear directions, procedures, and standard work instructions without independent decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Operate production equipment.
• Maintain warehouse machines.

• Meet individual production task deadlines during the shift.
• Report defective products or machinery.
• Check stock levels and report shortages of products or raw materials.
• Keep the worksite clean to prevent hazards from chemicals and fragile products.

• Ensure shipping procedures are completed in a timely manner.
• Transfer equipment manually or with forklift trucks.
• Follow company safety and quality guidelines.
