About The Position

Reporting to the Safety Coordinator, the Wet Goods Coordinator is responsible for managing hazardous waste and wet goods programs while ensuring compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements. This role supports inventory control, vendor coordination, chemical management, and operational readiness while maintaining professional communication with internal and external stakeholders. Internal applicants must have no disciplinary action beyond a formal discussion within the past 180 days and no more than one formal discussion during that period.

  • Ability to work around operating equipment and chemical handling processes
  • Ability to follow all Right-To-Know, safety, and hazardous material procedures
  • Ability to work overtime when business needs require

Nice To Haves

  • Basic understanding of printing operations, quality systems, cylinders, blades, chrome, and related processes
  • Currently hold forklift certification or are willing to obtain certification

Responsibilities

  • Maintain compliance with all plant, division, and environmental safety policies
  • Complete annual Hazardous Waste Management and RCRA/DOT regulatory training requirements
  • Train Ink Technicians and other team members on hazardous waste handling procedures
  • Manage the facility hazardous waste program and associated compliance activities
  • Conduct daily inspections of hazardous waste storage areas
  • Maintain hazardous waste documentation, reporting, and shipment records
  • Manage inventory control for solvents, adhesives, lacquers, and other wet goods
  • Perform monthly inventory counts of wet goods and tank farm materials
  • Complete reports required within the wet goods management system
  • Assist with incoming trials and new product introductions
  • Participate on the chemical approval team
  • Receive, test, and unload tanker deliveries
  • Unload, label, store, and maintain documentation for wet goods shipments
  • Ensure wet goods are prepared and available for press startups
  • Mix and maintain Sun Chemical lacquer requirements throughout production runs
  • Participate in vendor training and share knowledge with plant personnel
  • Support new job startups and process improvements
  • Ensure X-Rite equipment is properly calibrated
  • Set up ink formulas and specifications for new jobs
  • Work with vendors, Quality, Process, and Technical teams to reduce hazardous waste generation
  • Maintain records, logs, reports, and inventory documentation
  • Drive forklifts regularly as part of daily responsibilities
  • Maintain organized, clean, and safe work areas
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and special projects
