The position will be remote with (at minimum) weekly in-person meet-ups with leadership. The employee will be linked to the headquarters for the group in Denver, CO. Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands-on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional. While this position will primarily work with the West Asset Management team, interns are assigned duties that will provide broad, well-rounded learning. This position could provide the opportunity for the intern to work on projects with other AECOM business lines including design, transportation, energy, sustainability, strategic planning, and business development. The US West Asset Management group consists of 18 multi-disciplinary team members operating within offices or remotely from the east to the west coast. We frequently team with many other departments and business lines within the larger AECOM. One of our main service offerings is asset advisory services, which enables organizations to have effective capital and operations and maintenance (O&M) planning strategies for dealing with maintenance, repair and replacement of their assets and infrastructure to enable them to achieve their goals. We believe the client must have critical asset data that provides sound information from which they can make accurate, credible and defensible investment decisions. This includes having the capability to predict the cost, timing, impact and alternatives of identified needs. The internship role includes learning and advancing skills to support our wide-ranging projects. Activities include determining efficient ways to collect data across all facility types, customizing the technology to support different scopes of work, testing and deployment of in-house designed software, and performing facility condition assessments in multidisciplinary teams for various building components. These components include structural, civil, architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems. The internship position will also support data management, analysis, and report preparation. The ideal candidates will be willing and able to learn new skills and methods on challenging field and office assignments in a collaborative, supportive, positive team environment.
