About The Position

The Wendy’s Wonderful Kids (WWK) Recruiter at Arms Wide is responsible for maintaining a caseload of a minimum of 12 active youth and engaging in child-center focused recruitment on their behalf. This role involves building relationships with youth and actively pursuing the location of a permanent family for each child. A key strategy is to explore the child’s history and contact people with whom the child has a preexisting relationship (such as relatives, neighbors, mentors, teachers, pastors, etc.) who may become potential adoptive parents or sources of information to find a permanent home for that child. The goal is to find a family who the child already knows to increase their comfort and openness to adoption, thereby finding the right adoptive parents for a child.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, in related Human Services field preferred.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and occasional weekends.
  • Commitment to work from a strengths based and/or youth development perspective.
  • Belief that all children deserve legal permanency.
  • Highly motivated self-starter.
  • Knowledgeable regarding impact of trauma and trauma-informed practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple projects and cultivate relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate strong working relationships with diverse populations, including public agency staff.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Reliable transportation required.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in social work or 2 years post graduate direct experience with youth preferred.
  • Experience in the foster care and adoption field.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a caseload of a minimum of 12 active youth.
  • Engage in child-center focused recruitment on behalf of the youth.
  • Build relationships with the youth on their caseload.
  • Actively pursue locating a permanent family for the youth.
  • Explore the child’s history and contact people with whom the child has a preexisting relationship (such as relatives, neighbors, mentors, teachers, pastors, etc.) who may become potential adoptive parents or sources of information to find a permanent home for that child.
  • Engage in cold calling people identified as current and previous connections of the youth.
