As a Wellness, Health and Safety Advisor, Medical and Academic Affairs with Vancouver Coastal Health you will: Lead Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) Medical Staff Wellness, Health and Safety strategy, design, including the creation of linkages across all related portfolios. Align initiatives across wellness, violence prevention occupational health, accommodation, and psychological safety. Develop and recommend approaches, design, implementation and evaluation of wellness, health and safety programs, while ensuring programs align with trauma-informed and cultural safety frameworks. Inform, partner with, and guide designated VCH People, Medical & Academic Affairs (MAA) and contract advisors and educators when rolling out program initiatives and developing training curriculum and policy. Support the implementation of CSA Psychological Health and Safety, WorkSafe BC and Violence standards into wellness programming. This role champions both psychological safety and employee wellness and brings together medical staff, leaders and organizational partners to increase strategy adoption. Requirements

  • A Degree in Psychology, Education, Counselling, Organizational Development, Health Promotion, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in Psychological Health and Safety, Learning & Development, or Organizational Wellness in a large complex organization, including experience applying the National Standard for Psychological Health and Safety and wellness program development, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with key internal and external partners to promote and enhance services provided with sensitivity to diversity and Indigenous lens.
  • Practices the recognition, inclusion and support of all types and aspects of diversity at all stages of engagement, with an understanding of the issues faced by people from equity-deserving groups.
  • Fosters collaboration and effective working relationships with partners that promote cooperative goals and contribute to an atmosphere of trust and mutual respect.
  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills with a focus on system transformation and meaningful engagement.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, guide and facilitate change as well as anticipated future change in service delivery and develop strategies that optimize resources to improve efficiency and quality of care.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of psychosocial factors impacting personal well-being and organizational health.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of organization development theory and applications.
  • Demonstrated group facilitation skills in an organization development role.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of leadership and team development.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.

Nice To Haves

  • Recent related clinical professional experience and working alongside medical staff structure are considered assets to the position.
  • Certification or advanced training in psychological health and safety, mental health, health promotion, organizational development, coaching, or trauma-informed practice would be an asset to this role.
