Wellness Center Associate (Part-Time)

About The Position

The Wellness Center Associate helps maintain a safe, healthy, and welcoming exercise environment at the Tri-Community Family Branch YMCA. The role includes maintaining and sanitizing equipment in the wellness center’s common area, assisting members with fitness activities and equipment, and keeping current with safety and fitness trends. Associates provide attentive, courteous service to members and guests, conduct equipment orientations, maintain the cleanliness and organization of the Fitness Center, and follow its operating procedures and rules. Staff are also required to complete child-protection training before beginning work.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Current CPR and First Aid certifications, or willingness to become certified.
Excellent written and oral communication skills to work positively with members and staff.
Familiarity with fitness equipment and awareness of safety and fitness trends.

Nice To Haves

Educational background in Physical Education, Exercise Science, Health Education, or a related field.
Personal Trainer Certification.

Responsibilities

Greet members and guests attentively and courteously, including learning and using their names.
Provide professional, courteous service to members and guests.
Explain fitness activities and equipment to members and guests.
Follow Fitness Center opening and closing procedures.
Conduct equipment orientations.
Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the Fitness Center, including daily cleaning and sanitizing of equipment.
Report equipment needing repair to a supervisor.
Organize rooms with the proper equipment during hourly walkthroughs.
Replenish supplies such as towels, water cups, and disinfecting wipes.
Enforce Wellness Center rules and regulations.
Attend scheduled staff meetings.
Perform other job-related duties as requested.
Complete required child-protection training before beginning work.
