About The Position

The Wellness Attendant (KAA) at The Salvation Army Kroc Center (SAKC) in Philadelphia, PA, is a part-time position responsible for assisting in aquatics, fitness, and gymnasium operations, as well as member services. This role involves enforcing department rules, ensuring proper supervision of minors, and verifying facility eligibility. The Wellness Attendant is expected to address policy violations professionally and report issues to management. A key aspect of this role is acting as a Mandated Reporter, requiring specific training and clearances related to child protection.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED, or enrolled in a program designed to result in such achievement.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate proficiently in English.
  • Ability to work and relate well with people.
  • As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 prior to employment.
  • Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check.
  • Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in aquatics/fitness/gymnasium operations.
  • Assist in member services.
  • Enforce department rules, including ensuring minors are accompanied by guardians and that only eligible individuals use the facility.
  • Address violations of department policies in a respectful, professional manner.
  • Promptly report issues, concerns, and questions to the Member Services, Aquatics, and Fitness Managers for follow-up.
