About The Position

South Texas Vo-Tech, part of Ancora Education, is hiring an instructor to deliver educational materials using sound educational practices that support students’ academic development. The instructor uses the educational experience to develop knowledge and skills in students’ chosen fields and help them achieve their education and career goals. The role fosters an engaging, dynamic, student-centered environment and provides support, tutoring, and other assistance as needed. Instructors model professional behavior and ethical conduct aligned with Ancora Education’s mission and core values. The instructor uses classroom and lab instruction, student assessments, and classroom management techniques to support learning. They ensure students receive the material needed to meet course learning objectives, and that instructional materials and equipment are ready, sufficient, maintained, and in working order. The role also includes faculty assessment and professional development, participation in meetings and reporting, meeting deadlines, and compliance with applicable requirements and company policies.

Requirements

Where required, hold an active certification or licensure.
Have five years of industry experience within the last 10 years.
Before beginning to teach, have documented prior teaching experience or complete the new instructor training.
Be able to qualify as an instructor under institutional and accreditation standards.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience teaching in a proprietary education setting.
Knowledge of federal, state, and accreditation regulations applicable to the proprietary education industry.

Responsibilities

Deliver classroom and lab instruction and use student assessment and classroom management techniques to provide an engaging educational experience.
Ensure students are presented with the material needed to successfully meet the learning objectives of each course in their program of study.
Ensure instructional materials and equipment are ready for student use, sufficient in quantity, properly maintained, and in working order.
Participate in faculty assessment and professional development activities, and maintain required certification and licensure.
Participate in meetings, review and analyze assessment data, compile reports, and meet academic and administrative deadlines.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and regulatory guidelines, as well as company policies.
Provide support, tutoring, and other assistance to students as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
