About The Position

The Welding Fabrication Superintendent is a senior supervisory position directing teams of welders and fabricators supporting the Equipment Services group at BEO. Teams perform work at various projects and external sites across the Gulf Coast, including installing and removing grillage and lashing hardware for barging operations and fabricating grillage, staging equipment, and miscellaneous temporary construction items to support SPMT operations. The role oversees welding activities within the BEO Heavy Haul organization and supports barge operations and heavy-haul activities through fabrication expertise.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or international equivalent and 8–10 years of relevant experience, or 12–14 years of relevant work experience.
Advanced knowledge of welding processes and procedures.
Ability to read, review, and execute engineered fabrication drawings.
Previous experience training and monitoring operations of less experienced welding personnel.
Previous experience supervising direct-hire personnel.

Responsibilities

Oversee a broad range of welding activities within the BEO Heavy Haul organization.
Provide knowledge and design details for fabrication of ancillary equipment supporting barge operations and heavy-haul activities.
Conduct daily equipment inspections to verify safe operating condition and compliance with manufacturers' operating guidelines.
Source welders and verify their skills.
Monitor the quality of work being performed.
Work with other disciplines as required to perform tasks supporting overall project needs.
Direct teams of welders and fabricators supporting Equipment Services at projects and external sites across the Gulf Coast.
Oversee installation and removal of grillage and lashing hardware for barging operations, and fabrication of grillage, staging equipment, and miscellaneous temporary construction items for SPMT operations.
