About The Position

This co-op/work-based learning position on the Welding Team gives students the opportunity to learn and apply welding techniques and skills in a manufacturing environment. Students learn alongside current welders across the listed responsibilities. Participation requires a training agreement between Landscape Forms and the student's school.

Requirements

A training agreement between Landscape Forms and the student's school is required.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and use measuring equipment.
Ability to learn welding and fabrication using MIG and/or TIG.
Ability to work independently or as a team member.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, bend and twist 80% of the time, and stand for up to 10 hours.

Responsibilities

Follow facility safety guidelines and promote safe practices.
Learn product descriptions and use scheduling systems to prioritize work and meet daily production goals.
Interpret engineering drawings and use measuring equipment.
Maintain accurate documentation.
Learn operational skills and processes through cross-training, including welding, metal finishing, loading fixtures, and cutting.
Set up, operate, and maintain machinery and equipment.
Learn to weld and fabricate using MIG and/or TIG and meet product quality standards.
Work independently or as part of a team to communicate daily goals and run production.
Maintain material inventory using the Kan Ban system and other material systems.
Promote workplace organization according to established 5S criteria.
Recognize and prepare critical areas to meet established product quality standards.
Maintain a smooth, continuous flow of product through the cell to achieve at least 95% on-time delivery.
Participate in and implement suggestions to continuously improve products and processes.
Adhere to the guidelines established in the Employee Handbook.
