About The Position

ITW Commercial Construction North America is seeking a Welder for its Charlotte, North Carolina team. The role performs basic welding to produce work that meets quality specifications efficiently and safely. The position is on 1st shift.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Experience using hand tools, including battery-powered hand tools and pneumatic tools.
Focus on quality control.
Ability to communicate and instruct on welding assembly.
Ability to collaborate with colleagues as a team player.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Tack welding experience.
Manufacturing experience, particularly setup, operation, and knowledge of preventative maintenance.

Responsibilities

Perform ordinary and repetitive hand welding operations.
Operate welding equipment and regulate current and voltage for proper fusion of metals.
Select the appropriate size and type of rod or wire for the metal and welding application.
Make decisions consistent with priorities set by the Production Manager or Plant Manager.
Contribute to team results and daily production goals.
Follow safety policies, rules, and best practices.
Facilitate learning and training through methods including hands-on and one-on-one instruction for welders at varying skill levels.
Communicate the process of welding plates in alignment with the position title.
Test and troubleshoot production line units.
Review equipment and production procedures and recommend ways to improve productivity and reduce operating costs.
Communicate issues to the Production Manager or Plant Manager to obtain resources or resolutions.
Prioritize and maintain workflow and ensure proper tools and materials are used.
Work with teammates to resolve problems that interfere with productivity and a culture of respect, trust, and integrity.
Complete quality assurance forms consistently and accurately.
Accurately report daily production.
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
