About The Position

Eaton’s CPS division is currently seeking a Welder – 3rd Shift for our Santa Ana, CA location. We are a leader in the design and production of critical power distribution products for many specific segments. The Welder – 3rd Shift role offers a 32.5 hour work week with a $3/hour shift premium. Hours are 10:00pm – 5:00am and will start Monday night and go until Saturday morning. 30-minute unpaid lunch break. Full Benefits, 401k plan, PTO, and paid holidays is offered to you day one of employment. The hourly rate for this position is $29.12 per hour. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. The Welder timely and accurately builds Transformer sub-assemblies and assemblies to customer specifications using mechanical or power hand tools, machines, gauges, soldering and brazing equipment.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • Completed welding, brazing, MIG, or aluminum welding certifications
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
  • Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the work location will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation

Nice To Haves

  • 6 months experience in welding, and brazing
  • Experience in manufacturing, production, packaging or construction, or equivalent education
  • Previous experience with standard operating procedures
  • Ability to demonstrate working knowledge of the mechanical, and safety procedures of a manufacturing facility
  • Ability to read and interpret standard operating procedures, drawings, and bills of material
  • Ability to work daily and/or weekend overtime, willingness to flex to different areas or local plants as needed
  • Ability to lift, push and pull 40 lbs
  • Ability to use a crane once fully trained to lift items
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Repetitive lifting, bending, and squatting is inherent to this position
  • Ability to use hand tools and other machines to manipulate metal and or wire

Responsibilities

  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to build sub-assemblies and assemblies
  • Use heavy industrial equipment, including cranes, fabrication, welding and brazing equipment
  • Provide assistance to other sheet metal fabricators / operators in performance of their duties as required. Be responsible for visual inspections of material before and after assembly
  • Use various fixtures, gauges, hand tools, power tools, MIG welders to assemble, adjust, or repair product
  • Inspect completed assemblies to ensure compliance with quality standards and making necessary adjustments when required in order to meet quality goals Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly fashion
  • Adhere to company, environmental, health, safety rules and regulations Provide process and safety improvement idea.
  • Observe all health/hygiene and safety policies as directed and specified.
  • Ensure machines and tools are properly calibrated and perform housekeeping duties as necessary using the principles of 5S+
