About The Position

A 3rd Shift Welder for Bastian Automation will be responsible for general welding/fitting producing weldments for material equipment projects. The main emphasis for this position is welding/fitting, other duties to include fabrication, assembly, and painting of projects as well as general repair and maintenance of Bastian Automation shop equipment. A Welder will be responsible for maintaining tolerances and dimensions specified by individual print. A Welder I will have 1-2 years of experience in the welding/fitting field.

Requirements

Relevant welding experience required.
Positive attitude, able to handle tense situations that arise.
Team player, able to take direction.
General knowledge of fabrication equipment including horizontal saws, lathes, mills, & drill presses.
Onsite weld test given prior to employment to establish skill set.
Minimum High School or GED diploma
1-2 years of experience in the welding/fitting field.

Nice To Haves

MIG welding is preferred

Responsibilities

With guidance ability to build high quality welded parts from blueprints with low rejection rate.
Must maintain tolerances detailed on blueprints.
With guidance works from sketches/drawings to produce parts from sheet metal, plate, bar stock, and aluminum.
Keep workspace in a neat and organized order.
Show mutual respect for coworkers.
Show up to work every day on time. Sunday to Thurs 10:30 pm to 7 am.
Maintain a positive attitude.
Overtime required when necessary.
Follow safety protocols per JSA (Job Safety Analysis).
