About The Position

Cornerstone Building Brands is hiring a Welder for its Ballinger, Texas location. The role involves welding and fabrication work, operating machinery and tools safely and efficiently, and supporting ongoing efficiency and process improvements. The welder also maintains daily inspection logs and piece counts, follows safety requirements and uses applicable personal protective equipment, and cleans the work area while performing preventative maintenance and equipment checks. The base pay rate is $19.00 per hour.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
High school diploma or GED required.
Welder I: one to three years of welding experience.
Ability to obtain a welding certificate within the first 90 days of employment.
Must be able to become certified to operate a forklift and overhead crane.
Must be able to safely flip an I-beam.
Ability to safely lift and carry 100 pounds occasionally.
A combination of education and experience may qualify.

Responsibilities

Manage daily activities to support continuous efficiency and process improvements.
Perform fabrication work such as grinding, chipping, and finishing.
Operate machinery and tools efficiently and safely.
Maintain a daily inspection log and daily piece counts.
Comply with safety requirements and use applicable personal protective equipment.
Clean the work area daily and perform preventative maintenance and equipment checks.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
