About The Position

The Welder is responsible for fabricating, fitting, and welding metal components and assemblies according to specifications, drawings, and quality standards. This role plays a critical part in producing high-quality products that meet customer expectations for safety, performance, and appearance. Welders are expected to work as Team Members, contributing to a safe, efficient, and continuously improving manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Prior welding or fabrication experience preferred (manufacturing environment a plus)
  • Welding certification(s) preferred but not required (training may be provided)
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Basic computer, email, and web skills
  • Ability to complete electronic documentation and training modules
  • Strong attention to detail and pride of workmanship
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to visualize finished assemblies
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Willingness to learn and improve skills continuously
  • Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
  • Read, speak, and write English clearly
  • Convey information effectively and judge distances, shapes, and fits

Responsibilities

  • Abide by the company’s Quality Management System
  • Prioritize customer satisfaction and maintain compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Protect the company’s assets, reputation, goodwill, and marketplace stature at all costs
  • Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, work orders, and specifications
  • Perform welding operations using appropriate processes (MIG, TIG, Flux-Core, or Stick, as applicable)
  • Fit, tack, and weld metal parts and assemblies to required tolerances
  • Inspect welds for quality, strength, and appearance; correct defects as needed
  • Use hand tools, power tools, jigs, fixtures, and measuring instruments
  • Maintain clean, organized work areas in accordance with 5S principles
  • Follow all safety procedures, including proper PPE usage
  • Participate in continuous improvement, kaizen activities, and problem-solving
  • Accurately complete required production and quality documentation
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, quality, and fellow Team Members
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support production needs
