About The Position

Workplace Modular Systems (WMS) is seeking a skilled Welder / Spot Welder to join their Fabrication department in Londonderry, New Hampshire. This role primarily involves TIG welding, with the use of resistance/spot welding as needed. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality welded assemblies on various steel products, working from drawings and work orders. The position also includes cutting and processing steel tubing on a CNC cold saw. WMS, established in 1950, specializes in engineering and manufacturing industrial workspace solutions, with a focus on quality and domestic sourcing.

Requirements

  • Hands-on TIG welding experience required.
  • Ability to read and work from part drawings, weld symbols, and work orders.
  • Knowledge of TIG welding safety, weld filler selection, and process parameters.
  • Strong quality consciousness and self-inspection habits.
  • Strong attendance, punctuality, and follow-through.
  • Ability to work independently and keep pace with production goals.
  • High school diploma or GED required.

Nice To Haves

  • Spot welding (resistance welding) experience a plus.
  • eDrawings experience a plus.
  • Familiarity with resistance welding process a plus.
  • Vocational or technical training in welding preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform TIG welding as the primary welding process to join steel components and assemblies to drawing specifications.
  • Set up, fit, and tack parts, monitoring for warping and distortion.
  • Self-inspect finished welds for quality and dimensional accuracy.
  • Operate resistance/spot welding equipment on components where specified per drawing.
  • Set up parts for spot welding using jigs, clamps, and fixtures, maintaining consistent weld quality and inspecting fusion results.
  • Cut and process steel tubing to length and specification using a CNC cold saw, ensuring accurate setup and clean cuts.
  • Prepare, assemble, and tack-weld parts and surfaces prior to welding.
  • Use hand tools, clamps, jigs, and fixtures to ensure proper fit-up before welding.
  • Perform grinding, cutting, and cleaning operations as required to prepare and finish parts to specification.
  • Read and interpret work orders, part drawings, and weld symbols accurately.
  • Reference eDrawings-based work instructions to confirm part requirements.
  • Inspect completed welds and finished parts for dimensional accuracy and weld quality.
  • Identify and report defects or non-conformances before parts advance downstream.
  • Maintain welding equipment in proper working order.
  • Keep work area clean, organized, and 5S-compliant.
  • Notify supervision of any equipment faults or material issues.
