About The Position

This position involves welding parts of fixed equipment that require repair, as well as welding new parts for assembly. The role also includes building up parts that have worn thin and repairing cracks in mobile equipment, such as the boom of a material handler. Additionally, the Welder will install conduit, fasteners, hooks, and pulleys, and construct platforms, stairs, catwalks, guardrails, and equipment supports. Maintaining a clean and orderly work area is crucial, including regular attendance and punctuality, organizing materials for effective space utilization, proper disposal of waste materials, and ensuring cleanup is completed. Effective housekeeping is an ongoing operation for safety and hygienic conditions.

Requirements

Must pass a medical physical and drug test.
Must pass a background check.
Ability to communicate with others effectively.
Ability to understand direction (written or oral).
Ability to use basic math skills as the job demands.

Nice To Haves

Employees in this position prior to April 2014 are presumed to be qualified and are "grandfathered" into their positions.
High school diploma or GED and/or foreign education acceptable.
Bi-lingual (English & Spanish language skills a plus.
Welding school or certification preferred.
Previous experience scrap metal recycling a plus.
Forklift experience a plus.
