About The Position

Morgan Truck Body is hiring a Welder for its manufacturing plant in Rydal, Georgia. The Welder operates welding equipment to join aluminum, steel, and galvanneal components used in truck bodies. The role requires precision in blueprint interpretation, material preparation, machine setup and preventative maintenance, weld inspection, and compliance with safety and quality standards. Employees may learn multiple welding methods and earn certifications. The position is on 1st shift but may transfer to 2nd shift later due to business demands. The posting promotes opportunities for internal advancement, including into production leadership.

Requirements

Successfully pass a weld test demonstrating welding skill and quality.
Proficiency welding mild steel and galvanneal materials.
At least 6 months of welding experience or completion of welding school training.
Basic math, tape-measurement, and computer skills.
Basic experience using hand tools.
Ability to understand and apply measurements accurately.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
High school diploma or equivalent GED.
Must be at least 18 years old.

Nice To Haves

Previous manufacturing experience.
Previous experience working on truck bodies.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret blueprints to weld metals according to customer and company requirements.
Operate heavy equipment, such as saws, to prepare materials.
Set up welding machines and perform preventative maintenance.
Inspect welds for defects and ensure work meets quality standards.
Learn and apply multiple welding methods and earn certifications.
Perform safety and quality checks.
Follow and promote company safety policies.
