About The Position

MAT Industries manufactures air compressors and is hiring a Welder. The role performs production wire-feed welding, including welding ASME code pressure vessels, in positions for which the employee is certified or trained. The company will provide training. The work includes repetitive lifting of materials and products weighing up to 50 pounds, troubleshooting weld problems and making adjustments, understanding blueprints, identifying welding defects, and using weld gauges. The schedule is first shift, Monday through Thursday, 6:15 AM to 4:45 PM, with overtime available. Welders start at $23.00 per hour and can earn up to $24.50 per hour through welding certification advancement.

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED.
• MIG welding experience.
• Safety-conscious approach, quality-mindedness, good work habits, and reliable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Perform production wire-feed welding, including welding ASME code pressure vessels, in positions for which certified or trained.
• Lift materials and products repeatedly throughout the process, up to 50 pounds.
• Troubleshoot welding problems and make adjustments to correct them.
• Understand blueprints, identify welding defects, and use weld gauges.
• Maintain safety-conscious, quality-minded work habits and good attendance.
