About The Position

HSM is a third-generation, privately held manufacturing company founded in 1944, with 25 locations across the United States. The Welder works in a manufacturing setting and supports production by maintaining welding equipment, operating robotic welders, checking part quality, and tracking production downtime. The role is performed in a non-climate-controlled plant and involves frequent interaction with managers and other employees.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must pass a manual welding test.
• Must be willing and able to follow all safety policies.
• Must frequently lift, move, and/or drag or push more than 40 pounds.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods and use hands to grasp, handle, or feel.
• Work involves daily use of solvents, oils, and grease; gloves are required to protect hands and fingers.
• Must maintain safety precautions and personal protective equipment in a manufacturing plant environment.

Nice To Haves

• At least 6 months of previous work experience in a manufacturing setting; preferred but not required.
• Ability to read blueprints; preferred.
• Caliper experience; preferred.
• MIG welding experience; no minimum duration is required, and experience may be from any environment.

Responsibilities

• Stock components as needed for daily activities.
• Repair or replace MIG welder components, including welding leads, regulators, diffusers, and welding tips.
• Replace wire stumps as needed.
• Measure and record quality information.
• Report and correct quality issues as assigned by a Supervisor or Lead.
• Participate in departmental housekeeping requirements.
• Operate robotic welders, including basic troubleshooting and programming.
• Inspect part quality using appropriate measuring devices and gauges.
• Track and record weld-cell downtime during production runs.
• Read blueprints.
• Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor.
