About The Position

This position is in Northstar’s Welding Department, and reports to the Production Supervisor. The position works with all levels of employees throughout the organization as necessary, but does not direct the work of other employees. This is a full-time position. Responsible for the efficient, timely, and economical accomplishment of assigned weld work. Responsible for welding activities, abiding by established policies, plans, methods, procedures, deadlines, and priorities. Interpret weld specifications and customer requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• Must be certified to AWS D17.1.
• 5 years’ recent experience in welding of complex sheet metal aerospace fabricated hardware.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Must be professional, punctual and reliable.
• Must be able to read and write.
• Demonstrated understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts.
• Understand Shop 5S per established Schedule and additional 5S activities as required.
• Must meet the status of a U.S. Person as one of the following: U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, have been granted asylee or refugee status.
