This role involves joining, fabricating, and repairing metal and other weldable materials using appropriate welding techniques and equipment. The Welder will interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams, and schematics to determine correct welding processes, and inspect completed welds to ensure structural soundness and quality. Responsibilities include setting up and preparing components for welding, operating angle grinders and other tools, and aligning components using various measuring tools. The position requires performing welding in various positions (vertical, horizontal, and overhead) and repairing machinery and components. Testing and inspecting welded surfaces and structures to identify defects is also a key part of the role, along with maintaining welding equipment and work areas to meet safety standards. Successfully passing Welder Qualification examinations in accordance with ASME B&PV Code Sec. IX is required.
