About The Position

Crown Equipment Corporation, a global leader in lift truck manufacturing, is seeking a skilled Welder. This role involves operating both robotic and manual welding processes to meet precise print specifications. The Welder will also be responsible for various cutting and grinding tasks, equipment maintenance, and quality inspection of parts. This position requires the ability to read and interpret technical documents, perform basic math, and follow verbal instructions. The work environment is moderately noisy and may involve exposure to welding byproducts and other industrial elements. Safety in areas with lift truck traffic is paramount.

Requirements

  • Read and understand part prints, production order routings, work instructions and control plans.
  • Understand basic math (including fractions and decimals.)
  • Must be able to listen and understand verbal instructions.
  • High School Diploma/GED Required
  • Must be able to stay stationary/traverse 8-10 hrs. per shift.
  • Frequently bend or balance, and occasionally squat, climb, reach above shoulder level, kneel, and push/pull.
  • Frequent lifting and carrying from 0 to 40 lbs.
  • Must be able to hear, see, and do simple but firm grasping with both hands.
  • Must be able to work in a moderately noisy environment that includes exposure to weld flash, weld dust, weld fumes, heat, dust, solvents, oil, and occasional paint fumes.
  • Must be able to safely work in areas of lift truck traffic.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Manufacturing experience preferred
  • Previous Weld experience strongly preferred
  • Must be able to remember, reason, analyze, and understand the concept of teamwork

Responsibilities

  • Set-up, adjust and operate Robotic and Manual GMAW (gas metal arc weld) welding process to weld parts to print specifications.
  • Set-up, adjust and operate Manual FCAW (flux core arc weld) welding process to weld parts to print specifications.
  • Set-up, adjust and operate air arc gouging, manual plasma cutting, automated plasma cutting, manual torch cutting, and hand grinding process.
  • Change consumable items on production equipment, including weld wire, nozzles, tips, etc.
  • Inspect parts to print specifications, using basic inspection tools.
  • Set-up, adjust and operate tube bender to form tubes to print specifications.
