About The Position

Under general supervision, the Welder works on the production line to build manufactured housing, as part of a team, and performs quality work in a fast-moving and consistent manner. The employee will be required to learn Champion Home Builders' method of MIG welding, as well as how to properly use a cutting torch. They must also learn how to layout a chassis and assemble it per DAPIA requirements. The role involves multiple tasks in preparation for the following day, including cutting stack and prepping hitch plates.

Requirements

• Must have a strong work ethic
• Must have the ability to work quickly and methodically
• Must understand safety procedures
• Must have good teamwork skills
• Must live the Champion Operating Principles
• Must be able to pass a 7 Panel Drug Screen

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in welding desired

Responsibilities

• Performs all manual labor in the area to which assigned
• Read blueprints and orders
• Communicate well with coworkers
• Use hand tools, air tools, and electrical tools
• Welding, wiring, painting of chassis
