About The Position

The Welder operates welding equipment to join aluminum, steel, and galvanneal components used in truck bodies. The role requires precise welding and preparation of materials, machine setup and preventative maintenance, weld inspection, and adherence to safety and quality standards. Welders learn and apply multiple welding methods and may earn certifications. Morgan Truck Body promotes production leaders from within, with many starting in welding or general laborer/assembler roles.

Requirements

• Successfully pass a weld test demonstrating skill and quality.
• Proficiency welding mild steel and galvanneal materials.
• At least 6 months of welding experience or completion of welding school training.
• Basic math, tape-measure, and computer skills.
• Basic experience using hand tools.
• Ability to understand and apply measurements accurately.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Nice To Haves

• Previous manufacturing experience.
• Previous experience working on truck bodies.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints to weld metals to specifications.
• Operate heavy equipment, including saws, to prepare materials.
• Set up welding machines and perform preventative maintenance.
• Inspect welds for defects and ensure work meets quality standards.
• Learn and apply multiple welding methods and earn certifications.
• Perform safety and quality checks and comply with applicable policies.
• Follow and promote safety policies to protect yourself and coworkers.
