About The Position

Responsible for fabricating and repairing product using welding equipment. Essential duties and responsibilities include practicing safe work habits and complying with all quality, safety, health, and environmental policies, procedures, programs, and regulations. The role involves reviewing layouts, prints, or drawings in preparation for welding or cutting metal components, and laying out, positioning, aligning, and securing parts and assemblies prior to welding using various measuring tools. The welder will join, fabricate, and repair metal and other welding-type materials, and examine work pieces for defects and measure them to ensure conformance with specifications. Other duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements

• High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Perform and pass a ASME/AWS weld test.
• Knowledge of machine operations
• Read and interpret Engineering drawings
• Strong Math Skills/proficient Reading
• Experience in planning and scheduling
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Working in various weather conditions

Responsibilities

• Layout, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to welding, using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and/or rulers.
• Join, fabricate and repair metal and other welding type material.
• Examines work pieces for defects and measures work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.
• Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
