About The Position

Responsible for fabricating and repairing product using welding equipment. Essential duties and responsibilities include practicing safe work habits and complying with all quality, safety, health and environmental policies, procedures, programs and regulations. This position operates in an industrial/field environment. The role requires working in and around manufacturing equipment, heavy machinery, and potentially hazardous materials.

Requirements

• High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Perform and pass a ASME/AWS weld test.
• Knowledge of machine operations
• Read and interpret Engineering drawings
• Strong Math Skills/proficient Reading
• Experience in planning and scheduling
• Effective communication skills
• Must be able to lift/move up to 50 pounds regularly
• Stand and walk for extended periods (up to 12 hours per shift)
• Climb stairs and ladders
• Bend, stoop, kneel, and reach
• Work in confined spaces when required
• Operate heavy equipment and power tools
• Perform repetitive movements
• Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures
• Participate in regular safety training
• Complete required safety certifications
• Comply with all environmental regulations

Responsibilities

• Reviews layouts, prints or drawings in preparation for welding or cutting metal components.
• Layout, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to welding, using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and/or rulers.
• Join, fabricate and repair metal and other welding type material.
• Examines work pieces for defects and measures work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.
• Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
