About The Position

Daikin Applied is hiring a Welder for its Staunton, Virginia facility. The position is on 2nd shift, Monday through Friday, from 1:50 p.m. to 9:50 p.m. Starting wage is $28.00 per hour, plus a $2.30 shift differential. The role involves welding and fabricating chiller products, working with various materials, interpreting technical instructions, and inspecting finished work for quality and conformity to requirements. The facility is climate controlled. Work visa sponsorship is not available. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of pre-employment requirements, including verification of employment history and education, background screening, and drug testing where permitted by law. Safety-sensitive positions may require cannabis testing; testing and employment decisions comply with applicable laws.

Requirements

High school education/GED, or a minimum of 2 years of related experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
Ability to lift, push, and/or pull materials, stand for the majority of the shift, and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining proper PPE.
Ability to use hand tools for extended periods.
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

Read, interpret, understand, and work from blueprints, schematics, bills of material, routing sheets, labor summaries, and other written, electronic, or verbal instructions.
Work with a variety of ferrous, non-ferrous, and alloy materials.
Operate tools and equipment used in fabrication, handling, manipulation, and movement of chiller products, and use various welding techniques.
Perform within and maintain working knowledge of ASME Code regulations.
Use measuring devices and visual inspection to ensure product quality and conformity to prints, work instructions, and standards.
Maintain required records.
