About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Welder - 1st Shift at our Hodges, SC facility. The core hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm. The rate for this position is $22.83 per hour. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Please note that the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Must have a Welding Certification/Diploma in Basic Welding from an accredited institution. (i.e., Piedmont Technical College Basic Welding Certificate)

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience of welding in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience in sheet metal fabrication including experience with standard punch and bend tooling and processes.
  • Previous experience reading blueprints, manufacturing diagrams or drawings, and/or operating instructions.
  • Previous experience with measuring devices (i.e., tape measure and calipers)
  • Previous experience with ERP systems including DMM and AS-400.
  • Welding certification in MIG (i.e., Piedmont Technical College Basic Welding Certificate)
  • AWS welding certification

Responsibilities

  • Comply with the environment, health, and safety guidelines.
  • Sustainment of 5S+ in area.
  • Receive work assignments from supervisor or production control system.
  • Input information into data collection system as required.
  • Work from manufacturing information, sketches, drawings, oral and written instructions.
  • Weld parts using proper machine settings and rod or wire and gas selections.
  • Manually locate details on complex assemblies in welding sequence for a variety of non-repetitive structural assembly fabrication, with or without fixtures.
  • Design and fabricate fixtures to aid in the welding process.
  • Measure and align material, insuring dimensions conform to sketches and or drawings.
  • Weld, grind, and chip parts as required insuring a clean and quality part.
  • Perform routine maintenance on machinery such as oiling, manual clamp adjustments, and clamp/finger replacement.
  • Be familiar with all materials used to perform job functions. Follow material safety data sheet instructions.
  • Utilize calipers, gauges, or other measuring devices to assure engineering standards to the .001 precision level.
  • Perform statistical process control on machinery, as required.
  • Flex to fabrication work areas as needed, including braze weld, robot weld, housing weld, Geka shear, coil machine, housing saw, accessory bend, press brake, downdraft, masking, and housing punch.
