Welder Level 2 or 3
About The Position
The Welder II is a mid-level welding position, responsible for the safe and efficient fabrication of steel products. All work is completed with some supervision. This role requires embracing and demonstrating the qualities of the TrueNorth Steel Game Changer definition, following all company safety and quality requirements, and maintaining technical qualifications. The position involves working on semi-routine assignments with minimal supervision on new tasks and showing initiative to recognize areas of opportunity within current standard procedures. Prompt and dependable attendance is essential.
Requirements
- Exhibit knowledge of material identification, equipment utilization and welding equipment set-up and maintenance.
- Fits and welds subassemblies into final position with flat or horizontal welds
- Accurately measures to specified tolerances
- Performs flat and horizontal welding
- Advanced knowledge of weld symbols
- Basic oxy fuel and/or carbon arcing
- Able to final inspect welds
- Able to do basic Layouts
- Understand and follow oral and written directions.
- Ability to read a tape measure (imperial and metric).
- Ability to work with others.
- Ability to work safely and accurately.
- Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions.
- Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
- Ability to be truthful and be seen as credible in the workplace.
- Ability to make decisions or take actions to solve a problem or reach a goal.
- The trait of being dependable and trustworthy.
Nice To Haves
- 2+ years of welding experience preferred.
