About The Position

Morgan Olson LLC manufactures walk-in van bodies and vehicles for parcel delivery and other industries. The Welder performs welding operations, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding, in a timely and orderly manner to ensure work meets company and customer specifications and standards. The role involves working with aluminum and/or steel parts using shop routings, blueprints, work orders, and supervisor instructions. The position requires extensive standing, bending, lifting, reaching, twisting, and turning. The employee may lift fabricated parts and assemblies weighing several pounds up to 50 pounds; heavier parts are handled with a hoist or assistance from another team member. Required PPE includes steel-toed safety shoes, a welding helmet, welding gloves, and tinted safety glasses with side shields. Additional PPE, such as hearing protection or respirators, may be required depending on the task.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Must pass a welding test.
2–3 years of welding experience with aluminum and steel using MIG, TIG, and stick welding.
Ability to read and understand blueprints.
Ability to set up welding machines.
Computer literacy and familiarity with measuring tools.

Responsibilities

Set up, assemble, align, secure, and clamp component parts with jigs and fixtures for tack or finish welding of aluminum and/or steel parts.
Work from blueprints and work orders or follow supervisor instructions.
Set and adjust welding machines to achieve optimal welds and quality assurance.
Maintain welding guns.
Keep machines, equipment, and the general work area clean.
Support and participate in Morgan Olson’s PPS team efforts.
Follow the Quality policy by exceeding customer expectations, remaining customer-focused, and supporting continuous improvement activities.
Follow safety policies and practices, including behavioral-based safety, at all times.
Perform other duties as required.
