Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent. (Required)
  • Manufacturing experience. (Required)

Responsibilities

  • Perform TIG (GTAW) and MIG (GMAW) welding on aluminum castings
  • Use appropriate filler materials and machine settings specific to aluminum welding
  • Weld and repair surface defects, cracks, or porosity in castings
  • Grind and smooth welds to meet required finish and quality standards
  • Ensure weld integrity and appearance meet internal specifications
  • Build custom equipment, frames, and supports for foundry operations
  • Maintain welding tools and report equipment issues promptly
  • Use rigging equipment such as hoists, slings, and cranes to safely lift and position castings
  • Set up castings in welding fixtures to ensure proper orientation, stability, and access
  • Clean and prep welding surfaces by drilling, grinding, and removing contaminants
  • Safely operate welding machines, grinders, and saws
  • Wear appropriate PPE: welding helmet, safety glasses, leather gloves, welding jacket, steel toe boots
  • Adhere to safety procedures for welding in high-heat, metalworking environments
  • Handle aluminum dust and fumes in compliance with health and environmental standards
