About The Position

Handle standard/non-standard railcar/non-railcar parts and components. Ship and receive material within a warehouse environment, in addition to the maintenance of inventory and quality functions. All functions must be completed with minimal supervision.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of blueprint reading, mathematics, and visualizing dimensions.
  • Prior Railcar Experience Preferred
  • Manufacturing/Warehouse Experience
  • Fork Truck/Crane Certification or Experience
  • Interpretation of Blueprints Preferred
  • Metal/Alloy Handling Experience
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as the ability to apply concepts and proportions to practical situations is required.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Responsibilities

  • Perform welding functions (1G) to weld flat positions.
  • Understand and Handle the Process of Inventory Control i.e. Shipping, Receiving, etc.
  • Operate crane and hoists.
  • Interpret blueprints and manufacture parts in accordance with those drawings (to skill level 1G).
  • Package, Stage, and Finalize Paperwork for Completed Orders.
  • Interpret and understand shop mathematics.
  • Operate Fork Trucks.
  • Operate various machines in the Richland facility as needed.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
