About The Position

Morgan Truck Body is hiring a first-shift Welder in Janesville, Wisconsin. The role operates welding equipment to join aluminum, steel, and galvanneal components used in truck bodies. Welders prepare materials, interpret blueprints, set up and maintain machines, inspect welds, and follow safety and quality requirements. The position offers opportunities to learn multiple welding methods, earn certifications, and pursue advancement, including leadership roles promoted from within.

Requirements

• Successfully pass a weld test demonstrating welding skill and quality.
• Be proficient in welding mild steel and galvanneal materials.
• Have at least 6 months of welding experience or have completed welding school training.
• Have a solid grasp of basic math, tape measurement, and computer skills.
• Have basic experience with hand tools.
• Accurately understand and apply measurements.
• Be able to read and interpret blueprints.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent GED.
• Be at least 18 years old.

Nice To Haves

• Previous manufacturing experience.
• Previous experience working on truck bodies.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints to weld metals accurately.
• Operate heavy equipment such as saws to prepare materials.
• Set up welding machines and perform preventative maintenance.
• Inspect welds for defects and ensure work meets quality standards.
• Learn and apply multiple welding methods and earn certifications.
• Conduct safety and quality checks.
• Follow and promote safety policies.
